Yup. That Tillamook!

Until a few days ago we had no idea where Tillamook cheese came from. On our way to Nehalem we passed through Tillamook, OR. and saw the Tillamook Creamery. We decided to back track a bit and visit Tillamook, not for the cheese, but for the Tillamook Air Museum we spotted when going through town.

The building in the photo is 3/4’s of a mile away from where this shot was taken! This building is huge. it was built out of wood in 1943 to house blimps for the navy. It measures 1072 feet by 296 foot and is 192 feet tall. It encloses 7 acres of land and stored 8, 352 foot long blimps during WWII. Wow!

I was more impressed by the building than it’s aircraft collection.

We enjoyed the Tillamook Airport RV Park. It was a big grass field that was nearly empty. The sun was shining so Magalli spread out a blanket and we had a picnic.

Magalli once again is a happy camper.
