Among The Tall Trees
Highway 1 above Morro bay can be a bit of a challenge to drive in an RV. But the pay off is worth the effort. Big Sur sits just inland from the rocky central California coast and is situated among giant coastal redwood trees, some nearly 2000 years old and three hundred feet tall. The campground is popular and can be a bit busy this time of year but our stay was enjoyable none the less. We explored most of the area on foot and hiked the Buzzards Roost trail that gave us a panoramic view of the area. On our last night we shared our site with a German family that arrived late after all the campsites were full. Great people, and we now have an open invitation to visit Berlin!
