Just a few miles from Santa Cruz you will find Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. There are not any redwoods in the campground, however a very scenic 2 1/2 mile trail leads to the Visitor Center  and the “Redwood Grove” trail. It’s about a 1 mile loop that is packed with the largest old growth redwood trees we’ve ever seen. Spectacular! 

On the morning we left, the campground sponsored a “Learn to make a basket from ponderosa pine needles” workshop. Magalli attended. She has now added another talent to her repertoire.
